How to change your furnace filter step by step.
October 8, 2015
For new home owners or those newer to the DIY route, furnace maintenance can be daunting. There are some things that should be left to the pros, but one thing you can do yourself is change your furnace’s air filter.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to change your furnace filter!
- Find out what size of filter you have so you can buy a new one. The furnace size is generally listed on the top edge of your filter. A properly fitting filter will stop the largest amount of debris from circulating through your home. **The filter size will also be noted on your furnace specs.
- Once you have the right filter, make sure you install it facing the right way. Many filters will have an arrow or other indicator that will tell you which side to face toward the blowing motor. Slide the new filter back into your furnace and you’re done!
