$250 to say goodbye to your old Air Conditioner

Taking a look around the region we noticed that Waterloo North Hydro (SaveOnEnergy) has been promoting some amazing energy saving initiatives. Maybe you have seen their “Break up with your old heating and cooling system” humorous commercials and if you haven’t click here – A/C and Furnace. The underlying statement here is that you can reduce energy and save money by replacing your old inefficient heating and cooling equipment which uses over 60% of your home’s energy.

Waterloo North Hydro has recently launched a very generous contest in which you can win $1000 towards replacing your old central air conditioner. It’s as easy as “Snap it, Share it, Win it.” Essentially you just have to take a picture of your 10+ year old A/C and send it to them for a chance to win. Very generous contest, so we thought… why can’t we be generous and support the save on energy initiatives as well?

Without further ado we are generously offering $250 OFF of any ugly central air conditioner picture participant of the Waterloo North Hydro contest.

We have decided to increase the winner’s share to $1250, and offer $250 to all of the runner’s up!

Our Contest Details:
• $250 towards a new Central Air Conditioner (14.5 SEER Energy Star) purchased through Hogg Mechanical
• Must be replacing a central air conditioning unit over 10 years old and still operational
• Must submit an electronic picture of the outside AC unit to WNH
• Must present the Hogg Contest Code (UGLY10+A/C) when scheduling the initial appointment
• Must be a customer of Waterloo North Hydro
• Residential only
• Contest closing date July 12, 2013

Lauren McGirr, Marketing and Conservation Specialist for Waterloo North Hydro,  just informed me that we shouldn’t forget to mention that if they qualify they can get up to an additional $400 off through the incentive program! That is a total of $650 for participants and $1650 for the winner!

If it were my old and ugly central air conditioner picture I was sending in, I might be inclined to dress it up or down for presentation value.
