Recently, we were approached by Stance Healthcare about a replacement rooftop unit to provide all of their heating and cooling needs.

When we started to assess the needs of their company such as building size, type of business, how many BTU’s were currently in place and the efficiency of the current unit versus the options of standard or newer units we put our thinking caps on. We at Stance Healthcare were in need of a rooftop heating and cooling unit. We were looking to minimize our costs which meant a less efficient unit. It would have been easy for us to simply walk into the building, climb up on the roof, look at the current units rating plate (details of the unit, BTU’s, Model and Serial numbers, etc) and quote on a newer similar model for replacement. What most HVAC contractors don’t look at is how efficient the unit is and how much more efficient could a new higher efficiency unit be, the energy savings, operating costs, the incentives and rebates that can all be provided with some extra effort.  In this case, again with the help of saveonenergy by paying a little more for the higher efficiency rooftop unit they would be exactly as Bruce stated “further ahead in the first year.”

There are a lot of programs out there with incentives, rebates, energy savings programs and special offers to help save you energy.
