Recall: Nine Light Chandeliers Due to Impact Injury Hazard

The ESA has notified the public that Bel Air Lighting Inc announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer products immediately.
The name of the product is the Portfolio Nine Light Chandelier. The products were manufactured China and imported by Bel Air Lighting Inc in Valencia California.
The hazard is the mounting loop that connects the chandelier to the ceiling can fail during use, causing the chandelier to fall and creating a risk of injury to individuals under or near the chandelier. There have been seventeen reports of chandeliers falling from ceilings. No reports of injuries have been received.
The product is again a nine-light chandelier, Lowe’s item number 256047 sold under the portfolio brand as Transglobe item 2579 EBG. The chandelier metal is antique bronze coloured and the glass light shades are frosted yellow.
The product was mostly distributed between 2007 and 2012 and was approximately $250. Consumers should contact Bel Air to receive a free replacement mounting ring and reimbursement of installation costs if necessary.
